//World War Recommendations//

So I may sort of have an addiction. *distant sigh* I love, no let me rephrase, I adore World War FICTION or really any types of World War  books.
But alas for the past while and I havent been finding any of those books *sobbing*
___
When i was younger I would dream what my life would have been like had I been born 100 years ago. And as I grew older I began to realize what the people of the 20th century went through. The intense pain that the mothers, daughters and, wives went through as they Watched their loved ones go and defend their country, not knowing if they would ever see them again. The courage of the soldiers as they faced the enemy and, almost certain death.
What I came to realize and understand was that though some may say that the 20th century would have been a terrible time to live in, I one hundred percent disagree.
I think of Winston Churchill who fearlessly lead England during the horrible Bombing of London and declared that England would NEVER give in, or the Brave Doctors and Nurses on the battle field rescuing the wounded.
Soldiers like Alvin York who along with 17 other Americans single-handedly captured 132 German soldiers, What courage! what bravery!
To be Charles Lindbergh and have made the first solo airplane flight across the Atlantic ocean.
I could go on and on and on.... It would have been an honor nay a privileged for me to have lived at the same time as those brave Men and Women who gave everything for their King and Country.

  |So if you have World War 2 or World War1 books/series that you love, I would be so very happy if yall would share some of them with me|😁😁

//Here are a list of books that I have already read in this particular genera.//

●Pear Harbor. Gahh so amazing. I literally cried my eyes out

●Daughters of Fortune series by, Judeth  Pella

●Rila of Inglside, by Lm.Montgumery

● True stories from D Day

And for some reason my mind  just went blank on all the other world War books that I have read... So yeah *awkward pause*  maybe that's all the World War books that I've read????
I'm not even sure at this point.
ANYWAY moving on. As you now can see I am in Desperate need of some recommendations 😁😁
So I look forward to seeing what  references y'all have For me!

Last minute camping trip /learning patience

So you might be wondering what camping and patience have in comon. Well as you are soon to find out in my case they actually go hand in hand.
But as I have come to realize life certainly isn't wonderful and fantastic ALL of the time, although it does have its moments. But there are also times if disappointment and sadness. Life is hard but in the end I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Let me take you back to the beginning....
-
As I'm sure you can all imagine our joy and delight when out of the blue my uncle contacts my dad and asks if we want to go on a quick weekend camping trip with them. What could be more fun than getting to spend time with some of our favorite cousins!  Of course by this time all of us kids are exuberantly voicing our opinions (and yes they were all in favor of going camping)
And since we have just become the proud new owners of a new RV *happy dance*  we thought why not, an adventure would be quite a grand way to  einjoy the last few days of sunny warm weather (aka 60 degrees) to finish off the autumn. Unbeknownst to us at the time we were in for an adventure but not the one we expected. Not even close. *dramatic music*
______________________________________________________
6:00 A.M.  Sunday morning
We all excitedly pile into  the RV ready for the 5 hour drive into the fall colored mountains of of Pennsylvania. Soon we are all asleep (or at least I was) let me tell you something. Sleep and I love eachother. We are in a committed relationship. Can i get an amen?!?! *thinks longingly of her warm soft bed at home which is currently many miles away *
Okay back to the road trip...... 3 1/2 hours later and one stop at a winery to pick up fresh grape juice * yum yum*  we are on the last leg of the journey ........ or so we thought. I was conveniently sprawled across bed reading quite an interesting book which I shall have to introduce to you all on a later date, when suddenly I hear the sound of  tires rolling across the rumble strips. That was odd I thought, since we usuallydon't make random stops  besideside the road . unconcerned I went back to my reading only to hear my dad saying the the engine had suddenly turned off and wewouldnt turn on. Thankfully he was able to get to the side of the interstate without any accidents, (Thank God)  Hurriedly I made my way to the front of the RV to see what was going on..... to make a long story short after waiting for 6 hours stranded on the side of the highway road side assistance finally towed our brand new RV to the mechanics *distant sobing* we following in a borrowed  SUV that one of  my mom's relatives we able to bring to us, made our way to where they were hauling our large house on weels You can only imagine the disappointment that we were all going through at that moment, getting to spend a few days with some of our favorite cousins is something that we always look forward to. This is where the 'patient' part of the post comes in to play. I'm sure we are all familer with the  phrase all things work together for good, right. And I started thinkinng about the will of God.

What is Gods will for me?
What does He call me to do?

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; But above all these things put on [love], which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Colossians 3:12
God wants us to live a life of joy and happiness,  but I think we often mistake that for a life of leasure so when something goes wrong we turn to the blam toward  our Father. But that's where we are wrong. Where in the bible does God promise that our exsistance wpuld be an easy one??
Never! That's where, 1st Peter 1:6-7 says
though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
NKJV

God lets us go through trials to test our faith,  that way we become refined, drawn Nearer to the one that saved our souls, filled with his power and love.
Imagine if the Great Missionaries like Hudson Taylor or, Amy Carmichael, or even George Muler had never went  through hard times where all they had to cling to was God.
would their faith had suffered from that, never crying out to him when all you have is stripped away from you ??
Of course it would have.
When we don't have that utter and desperate need for a higher Power our very exsistances and reliance on God decreases.
Where as when we fall down and sorrow overtakes us, we call out to God for help.  And through that we are drawn closer to Jesus and our faith becomes all the more precious because we have felt the power of God in the Midst  of it.
And what it all comes down to is this.

Trust.

Just one word. Trust. Trust God that he knows best, without trust what is our faith? How can we have faith if we can not trust the one we are presumably relying on.
So today open yourself up to God. He has a wonderful purpose for you!!  If we would only let Him in.  The road may not always be easy or smooth, but he promises that He will never leave or forsake us.
So let's throw caution, fear, whatever is holding you back to the wind. Rest in the perfect will of the one who gave up his very life to save us.

_
Conclusion

" In the end we ended up spending the night in our RV and going to the campground the next day, so it all worked out, maybe not the way we expected or even wanted but at least now we have a new story to tell...... right?!?!? (Although I'm not sure that I will enjoy this one as much)

Now on to my favorite part of this post BOOKS *jumping ecstatically around the room *

Emily of New Moon
by L.M.Montgumery

Emily Starr never knew what it was to be lonely -- until her beloved father died. Now Emily's an orphan, and her mother's snobbish relatives are taking her to live with them at New Moon Farm. She's sure she won't be happy Emily deals with stiff, stern Aunt Elizabeth and her malicious classmates by holding her head high and using her quick wit. Things begin to change when she makes friends: with Teddy, who does marvelous drawings; with Perry, who's sailed all over the world with his father yet has never been to school; and above all, with Use, a tomboy with a blazing temper. Amazingly, Emily finds New Moon beautiful and fascinating. With new friends and adventures, Emily might someday think of herself as Emily of New Moon.

Quick warning I'm about to go all fan girl on y'all *insert full out happiness*
L.M.M will always be my favorite author of all times. Dont get me wrong, I adore other authors but there is something about her writings that draw me into the story. The way her characters interact and relate to each other is superb. When I read her books I feel like crying and laughing all within a matter of a few pages. And what I find completely astounding is that I don't cry or laugh because I feel for the  characters. I feel with them because everything that Anne or Emily go through are things that I struggle with and things that hurt me. L.M.M accomplish something that authors rarely ever grasp yet alone use it so incredibly well. She used everyday feelings, problems, emotions and drew them into her stories. Creating timeless writtings that have touched thousands of hearts and souls.
So [PLEASE] go and buy this book. I promise you that once you dive into her world, you will never be the same again.

Amy Carmichael
[rescuer of the precious Gems]

From the back page

"Amy Carmichael stood on the deck of the steamer, waving good-bye once again to her old friend Robert Wilson. How could she have known she would never see him or the British Isles again? Amy was certain God had called her to India. Indeed! India would be home for the rest of her life. "

Amy's life was marked by a simple, determined obedience to God, regardless of circumstances. Her story and legacy are stunning reminders of the impact of one person who will fear God and nothing else.

Driven by love and compassion, and sustained by faith and determination, Amy Carmichael defied the cruel barriers of India's caste system. The story of this young woman from Northern Ireland is a brilliant, sparkling example of God's love generously poured out to "the least of these among us.
She inspires me to strive for more of Christ and less of me. To lay down my wants and desires and stay instead "use me Lord to reach the broken and hurting of this world."

[Please take all of me Lord, that I may be wholly yours. Help me to hold loosely those things, even those blessings, that I have here, that I may be available for service to You at any time.]
- Amy Carmichael

Johnny Tremain
By Esther Forbes

Johnny Tremain, winner of the 1944 Newbery Medal, is one of the finest historical novels ever written for children. As compelling today as it was seventy years ago, to read this riveting novel is to live through the defining events leading up to the American Revolutionary War. Fourteen-year-old Johnny Tremain, an apprentice silversmith with a bright future ahead of him, injures his hand in a tragic accident, forcing him to look for other work. In his new job as a horse-boy, riding for the patriotic newspaper, The Boston Observer, and as a messenger for the Sons of Liberty, he encounters John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Dr. Joseph Warren. Soon Johnny is involved in the pivotal events shaping the American Revolution from the Boston Tea Party to the first shots fired at Lexington.

I first read this book as an assignment for school and have loved this story ever since. A must read in my opinion

The Winds of Autumn
[By Janette Oak]

From the Back Cover

I don't know who was most excited that morning my two buddies and I hoisted packs on our backs and started down the trail. Just before we got out of view of our yard, I turned for one more wave. You woulda thought we were marchin' off to war the way Aunt Lou sobbed into her hankie.

But I reckon we were just growing up.

I'm sure havin' a time of it tryin' to sort out all these new feelings. Lately, my mind keeps slippin' to the new schoolteacher's daughter, Camellia. I could tell right away that Jack Berry was sweet on her, too. But I never coulda predicted the lengths he'd go to steal her affection...

I love this series by Janette Oak. And yes y'all I said series!! This is the second in four book series.  There is a sweet simplicity about her work that I admire and value. Especially in this series. It's set in the 1930s which is awesome!! So curl up in a cozy blanket on a rainy day with a warm cup of coffee or tea and, get lost this tale  about a young boy's struggles with faith, trust, love, hate, forgiveness and God's love and Grace. Life isn't always fair but God is there for us. We just need to trust Him. Strong characters and storyline.
